Longboards

I do not understand the spike in popularity of longboards. They are large, inconvenient, silly looking, and expensive to boot. My guess is that kids buy them so they have an excuse to not learn tricks.

Finding skate spots can be difficult. A smattering of sites attempting to be go-to sources of skate spot information exist, but they’re all horribly out of date or only serve specific areas. Some dude pulled together a Google map of all the skate spots in the area, shared for editing so anyone can add their personal favorites.

Skateboarding is fun as shit. I’ve been skating pretty much once a week lately, usually out at the Powhattan skate park in Arlington. It’s probably dudes with insane drive like this that gave me inferiority complex that led to me quitting in the first place. This is the deep end of the bowl – he pretty much just looked at it for about five seconds and thought it would be a good idea to ollie from the deck to the flat bottom. I agree – great idea. I won’t be trying that next time I go out, but I am hoping to get the balls to just ollie the big three-ledge drop they have there. We will see.
